Dr. John Helsel
Dr. John Helsel was born and raised in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry with a bachelors degree in Visual Sciences and Doctor of Optometry. He did an externship at the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind. His Optometric interests include managing ocular disease including glaucoma, dry eye, contact lenses and routine eyecare for all ages. He likes the time to ensure that each patient leaves with a thorough understanding of their eye health. Dr. Helsel’s training and experience include years of caring for patients’ with eye problems, as well as extensive continuing education for eye disease and pharmacology.
